Incorrect HIN

Today I discovered that the Hull Identification Number on the boat does not match the USCG HIN for the boat. The USCG has a 7 referring to the fact that it was built in July and the actual HIN has an 8 meaning it was built in August.

The PO says he has a letter from the USCG addressing the HIN correction. I have ordered an Abstract of Title payment from the USCG that hopefully will list all this information on it. Now I have to research how to change the boat name and register it in my name at the same time. Hopefully all this can go down on January 11.
