It showcases more than 200 years of local maritime history and features an impressive array of exhibits, models and archeological artifacts. Not only that but it is FREE!!!
There are a bunch of other things to do in Norfolk, like the MacArthur Memorial, but the Naval Museum will keep you occupied for at least an afternoon. For instance, I am docked right next to the "American Rover," which takes cruises out and about this very nautical city.
Right next to the Wisky Battleship is Sail Nauticus, which is a Norfolk non-profit organization with a mission to inspire, instruct, and impact Hampton Roads kids through the use of sailing and maritime sciences.
And also next to Wisky is the beautiful wooden schooner Virginia which sadly has fallen on hard times and is up for sale.
