Airport at Maho Beach

The number one tourist attraction here in St Martin, isn't a white sandy beach, or the shopping, or a casino, and night life etc but none other than watching the planes take off and land at the airport. I'm talking at least a thousand people when I was there today at noon, crowding onto a 100 yard strip, drinking, partying and having a good time to the sound of popular music. The attraction is the proximity to the aircraft and if you stand near the fence when a large jet takes off, I believe that you can be literally blown over. There weren't any jets taking off when I was there but you can get a sense of it from a video clip of one plane landing.
